Proofreading
Proofreading is considered the lightest form of editing and is usually done at the very end of the more intensive editing. It's main focus lies in Identifying spelling and grammatical mistakes, including punctuation errors, as it's primary objective is to detect superficial errors.

Proofreading focuses on spelling, punctuation, and grammar. If I notice deeper issues while reviewing your manuscript, I’ll reach out to discuss your options before moving forward. If you choose to address those areas, the service can be upgraded to a copy edit, with adjusted pricing.
Editing
Copy editing also looks at spelling, grammar, and typos, but will also go more in depth looking at syntax, as well as removing repetitions and redundancies. Copy Editors suggest minor rephrasing to simplify and reduce ambiguity and look for clarity and consistency.
- Light Copy Edit: Is targeted towards proficient English speakers with exceptional writing abilities, in the final stage of preparing for publication.
- Medium Copy Edit: is for those who are proficient in English as a second language and/or advanced writers who seek further support in identifying errors and refining sentence structures.
- Heavy Copy Edit: is for second language writers and or writers who need extra assistance in rephrasing and corrections.
Line /Structure Edit
A line edit provides a heavy copy edit, as well as a style and structure edit that ensures effective communication, suitable language level for the intended audience, and appropriate mood and tone. This may require significant rephrasing and potential rearrangement of paragraphs. Unlike the copy edit, with focuses on sentence-level correctness, the line/structure edit evaluates the sentence within the context of the paragraph and the entire chapter. It might recommend reorganizing or renaming chapters.
*If you are not proficient with English, struggle with writing, and require assistance with style, clarity, and impact I strongly recommend you seek a style and structure edit.
**If you are an author looking for an in depth review of their overall story or series, I personally recommend a line/structure edit. I will include my notes on your story, which may include character development and accuracy, story accuracy and flow, plot or chapter suggestions, redundant information that can be removed, and plot development, etc...
